A steel beam web stiffener and bracing connection occurs at a metal roof deck overhang exceeding twelve inches. A half-inch thick beam web stiffener plate is welded to the steel beam web at each back brace location, sized per plan. A quarter-inch continuous bent plate connects to the steel beam and metal roof deck with quarter-inch fillet welds. Diagonal bracing members tie into the assembly per structural notes, spaced at seven feet two inches on center maximum unless noted otherwise. A perpendicular wide flange joist can replace a brace where indicated.
