An HSS10x6 wind column below connects to a structural beam using an L8x4x5/16 angle fastened with two three-quarter-inch through-bolts with two-inch vertical slotted holes typically on each side of the hollow structural section. A typical L6x4 angle welds to the beam bottom flange with a quarter-inch fillet weld. A kicker brace frames into the assembly with a one-and-a-half-inch gap, and a concrete slab and upper HSS wind column are located above at select locations.
