A new concrete coupling beam spans between existing concrete walls, incorporating a retained existing steel beam at its core. Drilled and epoxied dowels anchor the top, bottom, and skin reinforcement into the existing concrete walls with development lengths extending into the support. Stirrups and specific longitudinal reinforcement sizes complete the assembly along with a new concrete overlay.
