This structural steel connection details an intersecting beam framing into a hollow structural section column using a built-up plate tee. A three-eighths inch plate welded to the column face connects to the beam web with five bolts spaced at three inches typical. Additional three-eighths inch vertical plates attach to the intersecting beam as it passes across the hollow structural section column. Fillet welds of quarter-inch and five-sixteenths inch sizes secure the plate assemblies to the structural steel column.
