A typical long-span steel joist bearing connection at a concrete tilt-up wall panel joint features a structural steel joist girder with top chord bearing. The steel joist bears on an L6x6x3/8 by 0'-8" angle with two 1/2-inch stiffener plates, secured to a 1/2"x12"x1'-6" embed plate with six 3/4" diameter by 5" headed stud anchors cast into the concrete tilt-up panel. A 3/8"x6" continuous steel plate bridges the joint, secured by one 3/4" diameter A325 bolt in a long slotted hole parallel to the tilt-up panel. Two 1/2" diameter A325 erection bolts are required at all joists spanning 40'-0" or more. A bottom chord brace is provided by the joist or girder supplier typically at the joist mid-span of the girder, and the joist manufacturer is required to design the joist girder for a 10.0k axial load from the joist shoes across the joist girder.
