A six-inch Schedule 40 steel pipe with a 6.625-inch outside diameter and 0.280-inch wall thickness extends four feet above the finished floor and is filled entirely with concrete. The pipe passes through a minimum 12-inch diameter blockout or core-drilled opening in the concrete slab. Below the slab, an 18-inch diameter excavation extends three feet deep and is filled with concrete to anchor the assembly.
