Precast concrete panels connect at the building corner using embedded steel plates welded to a 4x4x1/4-inch structural angle, measuring zero feet six inches long. The embed plate measures 3/8-inch by 8 inches by zero feet eight inches long with a welded 1/2-inch by 4-inch strap and #5 reinforcing bars measuring 32 inches long centered on the plate. Additional #5 reinforcing bars measuring 32 inches long extend into the concrete panel. Wire mesh is tack welded to the steel and the joint is filled with non-shrink grout after welding, with a typical 1/4-inch fillet weld indicated. Anchor studs are welded to the back of the embed plates.
