A four-by-four wood post is secured to a concrete masonry unit wall sized per plan using half-inch diameter Simpson Titen HD concrete screw anchors spaced at three feet on center and six inches from the end, with a minimum of four anchors per ESR number 1056. The post maintains a two-inch minimum typical edge distance from the masonry face and a four-and-a-half-inch offset dimension. One-by-three wood furring strips spaced at three inches on center are fastened to the post assembly using number eight by four-and-a-half-inch wood screws.
