A beam-to-column framing connection at a slope transition uses a wide-flange column and wide-flange beams sized per plan. The connection incorporates a one-half-inch plate welded to the column flanges with a five-sixteenth-inch fillet weld at the top and bottom and a three-sixteenth-inch fillet weld on each side. The beams connect to the plate using five seven-eighth-inch diameter A325-N bolts on each side, spaced at three inches typical with a two-inch typical gauge. Clearances include a one-inch maximum gap at the grid line and one and one-half inches at the beam web connection. A drawing note specifies there is no slope at the similar wide-flange beam condition.
