A steel tube stair stringer bears on a concrete slab on grade and is secured by an L4x4x1/4 angle four inches long with a three-quarter-inch-diameter expansion anchor at each stringer. A one-quarter-inch-thick steel closure plate is welded to the stringer with three-sixteenth-inch typical fillet welds.
