A composite column assembly features an encased steel shape within a reinforced concrete section. Twelve number 14 vertical reinforcing bars are placed in the perimeter, supplemented by additional number 5 vertical bars typically spaced throughout. Eight number 9 additional vertical reinforcing bars are positioned adjacent to the intersecting wall element along grid C. Ties and stirrups provide confinement for the concrete and steel core.
