Incoming steel beams frame into the web of a wide flange steel column using bolted shear tab connections. Horizontal stiffener plates are welded between the column flanges at the beam top and bottom flange locations where required. A minimum clearance dimension of eight inches is maintained across the column web profile. Additional connection requirements are referenced by structural notes on the drawing.
