A ten millimeter cap plate terminates the square hollow section member, secured with four millimeter fillet welds to both the SHS and the column flange. An eight millimeter horizontal plate connects the universal column and SHS beam using four millimeter fillet welds. Flanges are notched or cut as required to avoid physical contact at the column and edge of soffit. Tab plates are extended as required, and typical tab connections follow sheet S6.0.
