The flue pipe is supported by a wide flange cantilever beam, which is reinforced with three-eighths-inch thick stiffener plates on each side. A hollow structural section post is bolted to the wide flange beam using a base plate connection with four five-eighths-inch diameter A325N bolts, spaced at one-and-a-half inches typical. The HSS post is welded to the base plate with a three-sixteenths-inch fillet weld. At the base of the post, the connection to the supporting wide flange beam is similarly reinforced with three-eighths-inch thick stiffener plates on each side, welded with one-quarter-inch fillet welds on three sides.
