A structural brace connects to a concrete slab on metal deck using an embed plate and expansion anchors. A gusset plate or angle member, specifically an L6x4x3/8x1'-0" long leg vertical, welds to a 1/4 inch thick by 15 inch by 1 foot 3 inch steel plate secured in the deck flute. Four 3/4 inch diameter expansion anchors with a 3 and 1/4 inch embedment fasten the plate at 12 inches on center inside the deck flutes. A waterproof seal is maintained between the anchors.
