Precast concrete spandrel panels are joined using continuous 3/8-inch by 10-inch steel plates and embedded connection plates measuring 3/8-inch by 10-inch by 1 foot 4 inches. The embedded assembly is anchored into the concrete with two 3/4-inch diameter by 5-inch heavy stud anchors and two 1/2-inch diameter by 24-inch deformed bar anchors spaced at 48 inches on center. Fillet welds of 1/4-inch size secure the steel plates together typically.
