An L 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 x 1/4 angle rail is welded to the wind column at each rail location, with its outside edge flush with the face of the column. A one-quarter-inch toe plate is welded to the grating by the grating fabricator. The framing and grating are sized per plan, and the wind column is positioned as detailed on the structural plan.
