This assembly connects non-bearing metal studs using a continuous 150U50-54 U-channel spliced at each stud with a Simpson 'SUBH3.25' connector. Each connector is fastened to the stud with two number ten sheet metal screws. This bracing is required for interior and exterior non-bearing walls when either stud flange lacks continuous bracing from solid sheathing such as gypsum board, plywood, or plaster. A strongback is not required for this configuration.
