A handrail guardrail post sets into a pipe sleeve with a tight fit, embedded within a concrete grade beam and slab edge. A 3-inch by 3-inch by 1/4-inch plate is welded to the sleeve at its base. The sleeve is filled with non-shrink grout. The 6-inch concrete slab is reinforced with number 3 bars at 18 inches on center each way. The grade beam incorporates continuous number 4 bars spaced at 12 inches on center and two continuous number 4 bars at the bottom with a 3-inch typical clear cover.
