A structural steel column supports a davit socket pedestal welded to a seven-eighths-inch thick cap plate at the column centerline. Beams frame into the column flanges using single plate shear tabs sized per plan. One-half-inch by ten-inch stiffener plates are welded to each side of the column web, omitted where shear tabs occur. A one-half-inch fillet weld connects the pedestal base, and a three-eighths-inch weld secures internal stiffener plates.
