An elevator rail support connects to a steel beam sized per plan with a one-inch gap maintained between structural elements. A five-inch by five-inch by five-sixteenths angle measuring four inches long fastens to the assembly using three-quarter-inch diameter bolts positioned within two-and-a-half-inch vertical slots. Three-sixteenth-inch fillet welds secure the connection as indicated by the weld symbols.
