A stair landing channel frames into a typical HSS 3x3 structural steel post in plan view. A typical shear connection fastens the landing channel to the stub post. A 3/16-inch fillet weld is specified on three sides of the connecting elements. An offset dimension of 1 1/2 inches locates the framing members relative to the post centerline.
