An open web steel joist girder connects to a steel beam web using a five-sixteenth inch thick by four-inch wide bent plate as required. The connection is detailed with quarter-inch fillet welds on three sides along the top flange and web interface. Additional load conditions are sized per plan. A shear tab with four bolts connects the steel beam web.
