Open-web steel joists are laterally braced with bolted diagonal bridging and bolted horizontal bridging spanning between joist chords. A vertical angle member measuring 3x3x1/4 by the joist depth is fastened to the supporting wall using five-eighths-inch diameter expansion bolts. Horizontal bridging members connect directly to this vertical angle at the wall termination.
