An alignment splice connects two sections of cold-formed steel wall top track across a wall joint between adjacent framing panels. A twelve-gauge splice plate matching the wall width and measuring two feet long spans the centerline joint directly over the top tracks. Each side of the splice fastens to the top track web using twenty-four number ten screws spaced across the plate area. Panel end studs and intermediate wall studs tie into the track framing beneath the splice location.
