Cold-formed metal studs are spaced at sixteen inches on center with depth and gauge determined by architectural schedule and wall height. The framing is anchored at the base to a concrete slab on grade and extends upward to interface with the overhead structure. Where wall height exceeds schedule limits, 400S162-43 braces are provided at four feet on center on alternate sides above the highest adjacent ceiling. A 400S162-43 strongback is installed at mid-length and fastened with two number ten self-tapping metal screws at each brace where the brace length is twelve feet or greater.
