A concrete grade beam incorporates a utility sleeve that interrupts the continuous bottom reinforcement. Additional top bars match the size and quantity of the interrupted bottom bars. Grade beam stirrups are spaced at four inches on center along the length of the splice. Two additional shear stirrups are placed on each side of the sleeve.
