A steel column connects to a thick base plate with a 1 1/2-inch thickness and a yield strength of 50 ksi, secured by six AB2 anchor bolts with plate washers measuring 1/2 inch by 4 inches by 4 inches typically. A 3/4-inch minimum thickness gusset plate is included where applicable, alongside a 2-inch by 5-inch by 1-foot 2-inch shear lug welded with a 5/16-inch fillet weld at designated grid locations. The column size is determined per the column schedule, and orientation follows the structural plan.
