The non-frame column is welded to a base plate sized per schedule with a 5/16 fillet weld or American Welding Society minimum. Four anchor bolts with double nuts and hardened washers secure the column to the concrete footing or pilaster. A three-inch minimum non-shrink grout pad sits beneath the base plate. The anchor bolts extend down into the footing with 1/2-inch by 4-inch square plate washers and are reinforced with #4 ties at six inches on center with a minimum of three ties at the footing.
