A structural steel column base plate connects to a concrete slab on grade and grade beam with eight 1-3/4 inch diameter anchor rods. A 2-1/4 inch thick by 70 inch by 26 inch base plate supports the column and a pinned core brace featuring a gusset plate. A 2 inch thick by 8 inch deep full width shear lug is welded beneath the base plate with a 7/16 inch fillet weld. The assembly integrates with a concrete slab on grade and sits over a concrete grade beam sized per plan.
