Longitudinal reinforcing bars with 90-degree standard hooks wrap around the corner of a concrete pile cap and beam intersection. The centerlines of the intersecting concrete beam and the underlying pile align as indicated on the reference plan. A bearing plate extends eight inches plus or minus two inches into the bottom of the concrete beam above the pile center. Transverse stirrups or ties enclose the longitudinal reinforcement along the beam spans.
