The assembly features a steel joist and a steel beam supported by a steel column with a steel cap plate and stabilizer plates. Metal roof deck bears across the top of the joist and beam framing. A steel beam haunch connects at the top flange with fillet welds sized at one-quarter inch typical, while bolts secure the joist to the cap plate. Stabilizer plates provide lateral stability at the column connection. Fillet welds of one-quarter inch are indicated typically at structural steel connections.
