A C8x channel connects to an HSS6x column using a top and bottom L2 1/2x1 1/2x1/4 angle welded with a three-sixteenths inch fillet weld. The channel web is welded to the column using a three-sixteenths inch fillet weld on both web sides. The top and bottom flanges feature a quarter-inch fillet weld at the T&B FLG connection. The angle leg is trimmed as required for a tight fit against the channel. Dimension callouts include seven and a half inches, four and a half inches, two inches, and a seven-eighths inch gap.
