This structural steel connection detail features a beam framing into a column web with the column web perpendicular to the framing members. The connection includes three-quarter-inch stiffener plates welded to the column flanges in four typical locations with five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds on three sides. Complete joint penetration welds are specified at the top and bottom flanges. Additional connection plates are detailed per sheet S6.11, centered on the work point where the beam and column centerlines intersect.
