A forty-inch by forty-inch square concrete column section contains a perimeter arrangement of vertical reinforcing bars with multiple interior ties. Standard construction provides one and one-half inches of clear cover to the ties. Transverse reinforcement utilizes alternating hook orientations on typical ties. The column layout aligns symmetrically with the structural grid lines.
