An angle brace consisting of an L3x3x1/4 member connects to the steel joist and steel beam with specified fillet welds. For the joist parallel to the beam configuration, a continuous 12-gauge plate 8 inches wide is provided where the bottom flute of the deck bears on the angle, omitting the plate where the bottom flute bears directly on the angle. The angle leg is crimped as required to maintain a flush top of steel. For the joist perpendicular to the beam configuration, the brace is located at the top chord panel joint with specific clearance dimensions ranging from 1 inch minimum to 2 maximum.
