A reinforced concrete grade beam supports a floor slab and features continuous top and bottom reinforcing bars tied into closed stirrups. Number five reinforcing bars are provided each face for depths greater than thirty inches per the structural schedule. The grade beam width and depth are sized per schedule. The slab transitions to the thickened grade beam section over a compacted subbase below the finish floor level.
