A steel column connection features external continuity plates that may be extended for slab edge or deck support at the fabricators discretion. A steel beam connects to the column with no protected zone on the beam. A bent plate or perimeter angle by others is provided, with welded attachments to continuity plates and/or top plates restricted to a maximum of three-sixteenths of an inch and positioned so as not to impair bolt installation. The maximum dimension between components is limited to eighteen inches.
