An exterior concrete slab features a thickened edge forming a 1-foot-deep stem with a 1-foot-wide base bearing on compacted subgrade. The slab tapers upward at a 3 to 1 slope to its standard thickness. Reinforcing steel bars are placed within the concrete section for structural integrity.
