The top chord must be checked for bending under a five hundred pound load, and the bottom chord under a two hundred pound load. In warehouse areas, designers must add a five hundred pound point load at any joint causing maximum stress in addition to roof loads, resulting in a horizontal force of 49.5 kips under LRFD. In office areas, a one-thousand pound point load must be added at any joint causing maximum stress in addition to roof and floor loads. All joist dimensions are to be verified per manufacturer drawings.
