Floor joists bear on a structural steel beam with associated framing elements including a four-by-ten blocking with a Simpson hanger, three-by-four flat blocking with a Simpson hanger, and a four-by-four nailer secured with three-quarter-inch diameter welded stud bolts spaced at eighteen inches on center. A Simpson MST48 strap tie with forty-six sixteen-penny nails is installed at eight feet on center in line. Angles measuring three-by-three-by-one-quarter inches are fastened with two three-quarter-inch diameter machine bolts at midspan. Two rows of staggered bolts connect the assembly, and a one-quarter-inch typical fillet weld secures the structural components.
