A structural steel hollow structural section column base plate connection. The assembly consists of a 1-inch by 16-inch by 1-foot 10-inch steel plate with a yield strength of 50 PSI, secured by six 1 1/8-inch F1554 Grade 55 anchor bolts. A 3/8-inch weld connects the structural steel column to the base plate. Additionally, 1/2-inch diameter by 3-inch and 5-inch typical headed studs are provided with a 1 1/2-inch clearance.
