A metal roof deck bears on a structural steel beam connected to a curtain wall system at the building perimeter. A continuous five-sixteenth-inch bent plate ties the curtain wall attachment to the structure, coordinated with the curtain wall supplier. Quarter-inch stiffener plates are provided at each curtain wall attachment point and on three sides of the beam framing into the middle of the braced frame beam, with full depth stiffeners on the opposite beam connections. Fillet welds of three-sixteenth-inch and quarter-inch sizes secure the plates as specified, with specific welds occurring only at beams framing into the middle of braced frame beams.
