A non-frame structural steel column bears on a steel base plate set over three inches of non-shrink grout on a concrete footing or pilaster. Anchor bolts feature double nuts, hardened washers, and optional one-half-by-four-inch square plate washers at the embedded ends, with sizing specified per schedule. Four-inch number four ties spaced at six inches on center with a minimum of three ties reinforce the concrete footing. A four-inch grout hole is provided on the base plate matching the anchor bolt hole size. Fillet welds connect the column flanges and web to the base plate per American Welding Society standards with a minimum five-sixteenths inch size.
