A hollow structural section member measuring six by six inches with a one-quarter-inch wall thickness connects to a steel truss bottom chord using two three-inch long leg angles measuring six by four by three-eighths inches. These angles are placed on each side of the hollow structural section with three-sixteenths-inch fillet welds on three sides. Two five-eighths-inch diameter machine bolts pass through the angles and the steel truss bottom chord.
