A steel tube stair stringer connects to a supporting steel beam beneath a concrete over steel deck floor system. A quarter-inch thick steel closure plate caps the assembly, paired with L4x4x5/16 angles eight inches long on each side. A quarter-inch thick beam web stiffener plate is welded to the steel beam web with quarter-inch fillet welds on three sides. Complete joint penetration welds secure the structural steel components where indicated.
