A 362S162-43 metal stud brace connects parallel to the metal deck using an L4x4x12-gauge angle that is one foot six inches minimum in length. The angle attaches to the metal deck with two number ten sheet metal screws at two low flutes for a total of four screws. A 362S162-43 metal stud is placed at the midspan of the brace, secured with three number ten sheet metal screws into each stud where the brace length exceeds nine feet.
