A steel beam connects to a structural steel column flange using a welded shear tab and high-strength bolts. The shear tab is welded to the column flange with specified weld sizes and is bolted to the beam web using multiple rows of bolts sized per structural schedules. Continuity plates are provided at the column web aligned with the beam flanges. Clearances and detailing conform to AISC specifications for k1 distances.
