The base of the shaftwall partition consists of a J-runner track secured to the floor with anchors spaced at two feet on center, bedded in a continuous bead of acoustical sealant. CH metal studs and one-inch gypsum liner panels form the core of the wall assembly. Layers of five-eighths-inch gypsum board are applied to both sides as scheduled, completing the partition base.
