A heavy steel column base plate assembly measuring 2'-6" wide by 5'-1" long. The 2-1/2 inch Grade 50 base plate is detailed with 2 inch Grade 50 stiffener plates welded typical inside and outside with 1/2 inch fillet welds, as well as on each side and both sides of the column web. Two-inch diameter anchor rods secure the base. A gusset plate provided by the buckling-restrained brace manufacturer connects to the assembly, flanked by 3x8 drag plates on each side of the column base plate.
